The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has impacted on the global economy, and the higher education, especially studying abroad, is significantly affected. On the other hand, international cooperation is needed to achieve the United Nations-led SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) toward 2030.

Therefore, in this program, in anticipation of the post-corona era, six African universities and Utsunomiya University in Japan will jointly offer the web online course related to Africa, SDGs, and Science.
The course will be the basis for mutual study abroad between African universities and Utsunomiya University.
Each university will select students who will be invited to Utsunomiya. Let’s join us!!

2024 Admission information

This is an introduction to the compulsory intensive course offered in 2024. 

TitleThe Compulsory Intensive Course 2024 “Global Management”
StudentsMaster course students from any field are welcome.
lecturesFifteen lectures: In this course, 13 professors from 7 universities will give 13 lectures which will be offered on the web using the application named “C-learning”.

FAQs

A. The scholarship provides a monthly stipend of 60,000 yen for Utsunomiya University students studying in Africa and 80,000 yen for students from Africa studying at Utsunomiya University, as well as support for travel expenses and study abroad insurance fees.

A. You should belong to a graduate school at one of the universities listed below to apply this program:

  • Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology
  • Meru University of Science and Technology
  • Addis Ababa University
  • University of Dar es Salaam
  • Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology
  • University of Ghana

In addition to the requirement mentioned above, you need to submit your grades and reasons for application for the screening. There is screening criteria for application. Selection of long- and short-term students is based on their performance in “Global Management”. Also, a minimum GPA of 2.30 (using the JASSO calculation method) is required.

A. Languages other than English are not required.
